The Rooster House

The Rooster House is the name given by Roger to a Quonset hut located near Building 451 on the Livermore campus. It is a spiritual and literal Faraday cage. Roger constructed the Rooster House to act as a safe room for Charley, a place she could go without worrying that the chip in her brain would transmit data to URIEL’s enemies. URIEL now uses the Rooster House for all meetings that may implicate topics they do not wish their superiors to know about.

Roger built the Rooster House to high military specifications. Once it was done, he stuck a sign by the door in stencil letters that read “Rooster House.” Later, he came back to add a few finishing touches:

First he sprinkled a little rooster blood (he knows a butcher, natch) under the “foundation” of the Quonset hut.

Second, immediately on setting up the door locks to the place, he smoked a cigar and drank a shot to Papa Legba before locking it the first time, consecrating the door to the Guardian of the Threshold.

And third, he comes back that first night, the Baron’s night, and sprinkles graveyard dirt and rum around the building, consecrating the grounds around it to Baron Samedi, keeper of secrets to the grave and beyond.

And around the room, since he won't want to put up direct images of the loa, instead he'll pin playing cards to the inside of the chicken wire on the walls, all royal suits, with subtle alterations on the faces to syncretize with the loa. Including, of course, Agent Double-Zero.
