Status Report One
Point 1 (Roger and Joe, Tuesday afternoon/early evening October 9): Roger has just had Joe speak with Papa Legba; oracular information was received regarding a) fear being the trigger for the subduction zone to expand and b) the Kings somehow want to lead those "lost beneath the waters" astray. Roger deduced that maybe this is in relation to the pre-Columbian mounds. Roger was set to report in to SANDMAN?
Point 7 (Marshall, Archie, Morris, etc., Tuesday evening October 9): Archie had the esmologists and memeticists at Point 7 work up the current Ohio human terrain profile: fear of war, but also an opportunity to use the state's defense and aerospace orientation to quell widespread fear that might cause the subduction to expand. Archie and the buzz boys came up with an "arsenal of democracy" meme to release across local and national media. Archie also detected a meme, with the same signature as the OZYMANDIAS New Age/human potential memes, released among the Sandmen of ALLOCHTHON to get them to ignore the mounds. Archie and Marshall kept Morris the taisher quarantined to avoid him getting contaminated by said meme. Archie called Hilary for advice on the mounds and found out he'd gotten infected with the meme in the past 24 hours; also found out that a) the UFO sightings at altitude have been increasing, with some incidental contact between SANDMAN surveillance aircraft and the "UFOs," and b) SANDMAN may be calling back some of the field personnel from the 12 subduction zones and leaving long-term surveillance in place.
Point 9 (Jo and Charley, Tuesday afternoon/early evening October 9): Jo and Charley surveyed the first mound and set up a motion-detection camera to watch it. They then went to Kincaid where Charley explored the Inner Astral for the first time. Saw a village once active, now abandoned. Charley felt the symbolic energy of a "disappeared people" is helping to fuel the subduction zone (through a leyline stretching from Kincaid to Point 9). Jo used Psychometry to read the emotional tenor of the Kincaid Mounds, most recent intense energy was a bunch of proto-Sandmen in the '30s coming in with a proto-ikoter and taking a reality shard away from the University of Chicago archeologists. Another motion detection camera set up, this one aimed at the mounds and in the direction of the leyline.
Point 10/Huntsville (Mitch, Dr. Davids, Maj. Wofford, Tuesday morning October 9): After Mitch's initial recon on Monday, the Point 10 core team drove back to Huntsville and bivouac'd there. On Tuesday morning, the overnight photos came in and showed three nearby 19th-century white settler cemeteries empty of their dead: yawning graves (with no visible dug-up dirt mounds), rotted caskets remained, but no human remains in any of the graves. The Point 10 field team has now set up a cordon around the cemeteries and more commando/operators are now prowling the woods/watching the nearby Hare Krishna commune. SANDMAN now considers Point 10 "hot" because of the further evidence of physical disturbance. No new "strokes" on the landscape glyph appeared overnight.
