John Ritchie

Real estate broker, member of the San Francisco Planning Commission and Landmarks Board, and one of those “polite” local historians: he’s President of the California Historical Society. He converted to the Church of Latter-Day Saints in 1971 after attending an event in Utah in ‘69 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Golden Spike and became interested in converting. He and Archie are friendly acquaintances. In addition to his more “mundane” work, John is also Noble Grand Humbug of E Clampus Vitus’ No. 1 Lodge, the Yerba Buena Lodge based in San Francisco.
